About the Carolina Code Conference

The Carolina Code Conference is a welcoming, community-driven “polyglot” and cyber-security conference in Greenville, South Carolina. Coders of every experience level are invited to plug into the community, share what they have learned, and have a great time doing it. When dates and tickets are set, they are announced on this site.

Important Dates

  • Call for Sponsors: November 2026 - July 2027
  • Call for Speakers: January - March 2027
  • Speaker Announcement: Early May 2027
  • Lyrical Code Entries Deadline: June 15th, 2027
  • 2027 Carolina Code Conference: August 6th & 7th OR August 13th & 14th. TBD

Single Track

We feature about 30 speakers every year, on a single stage, over two days. Every speaker who is selected addresses the whole room — about 300 people. There is no second track to win a time slot against.

Attendees share a point of reference, because everyone has seen the same talks. That makes it easy to start a conversation.

Social Evenings

Thursday night before the conference we open with a welcome event at GatherGVL for people coming into town. Friday night is usually a big night out at New Realm Brewing thanks to platinum sponsors such as Fly.io and Vonage. Some years we stay in downtown Greenville, visit an escape room, or play games at OpenWorks. Saturday after the talks, we wind down at Fireforge Crafted Beer with new friends.

It is a good way to make connections that last.

Honoring Our Sponsors

This event would not happen without our sponsors. Please visit them and say thanks.

Meetup of Meetups

We go out of our way to connect the tech communities in South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia, and we welcome meetup groups from those states and beyond. Bring your group. The point of the weekend is to put those communities in the same room. We even have an invite video, soon to be updated for 2027, that you can share at your Meetup Groups!

The Jimmy C Award

Each year the community gives the Jimmy C Award to someone who has done the unglamorous work of holding a local tech community together.

Lyrical Code T-shirt

How do you make a t-shirt for a polyglot conference? We crowd-source it. Anyone can contribute to the Lyrical Code Challenge on GitHub. Attendees vote on a song. You submit the lyrics written as code in a language you like. We take lines from different languages and print one shirt you can sing while you read. Finished shirts and the current challenge are on the Lyrical Code page.

The 2027 challenge is Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline. Entries are due by June 15th, 2027.
